Nearly bleeding to death after being in a car train collision , I had my scalp ripped almost completely off and blood poured from my head profusely with every heartbeat , so badly it was dripping back down on me from the blood soaked cloth roofing of the interior of the car. The car was so bad it had to be picked up in pieces and hauled away. I wasn't wearing a seat belt and hit the steering column so hard it broke the wheel and smashed the column against the door and the floor board was pushed up a foot because the engine of the car was pushed backward at least 2 or 3 feet. There were creases in the steel dash where my knees hit upon impact . This all happened driving a 1964 comet , back then most components were made of steel with little safety features including the windshield I put my head through. Only a miracle can describe my survival . Pictures of the car were shown on exhibits of accidents at local county fairs and such for a few years afterwards. Many officers on the scene later told me it was the worst accident they seen anyone survive.

Once, I was speeding a country road, that usually doesn't get any traffic. The way seemed clear, and I was late for work, so I was going 50+ mph. Just ahead of, a huge semi turned right into my path, without even looking to see if anyone was coming. I missed a head on collision by about two inches. I went to the other side of the road just in time. I still remember the expression on the mans face when he saw me. I had to slow down, and sit there for a sec, so my hands could stop shaking. I ending up being about a half hour late for work, but I refused to speed any more after that.

Been there. I was taken into an emergency room where a doctor pronounced me dead. A nurse named Judy came back and restarted CPR (her brother died in the same room exactly a year earlier and she wasn't gonna lose me!).
One of my favorite posessions is a copy of a medical chart with the words "miracle of God" scrawled across it by a doctor.
Other than that, I almost fell off a radio tower as a steeplejack, and also almost fell off a cliff face while free climbing. Neither were worth it.

I was in my car waiting for the light to change. It was pouring rain.
the light changed but I hesitiated for just a second - I don't know why. As I started to drive across the intersection a speeding car went through the red light at about 60 mph and never slowed down.
Had I started just a bit faster, he would have hit me directly in the driver's side.

When I was about 8 years old, I caught malaria and It almost took my life. I can't remember any of it but I hear stories all the time, so it almost feels like it just happened. They thought I was a goner....
