Has anyone ever used an over the counter cure for scar tissue? I have a scar on my chest from an injury I got over a year ago that will not go away. I've heard it can take up to about 7 years for scar tissue to go away completley. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any products that will help to speed the healing process?

Massage in lots of Vitamin E oil - it can be found at most pharmacies; cocoa butter works well also, if the scab is gone.

I had gastric bypass surgery back in 2002. I used the Neosporin patches on my scar and it faded dramatically. It didn't go totally away but you can barely see it now. I highly recommend that. You can get it at any drugstore or supermarket over the counter. Good luck!!

try a topical ointment called Merderma...its always better to try this, then not at all, even though the scar is over a year old
