Just a guess after not being able to find it on a name meanings website..... the chant or song. probably French or Cajun in origin.
There are tons of name meaning websites. Do a search and see what you come up with. Unfortunately I am at work right now and can't do a thorough search.

Technically, if it's French it means "The Sing". It's not "The Song" because that would be "LaChanson".
If it's pronounced "LaChantee", it could be "The Chant", which would really be LaChantez.
