it would be wrong. I can understand why it has been requested but most state schools nowadays teach tolerance and about all religions which gives our children the chance to see the similarities rather than the differences.
I feel segregated schools would simply alienate both muslims and other religions further.
By encouraging children at school to see how alike we all are and how to be tolerant we could be paving the way for less racism etc.

Imagine the Pandora's Box that would have been open if Supreme court didn't rule against some Christian Right trying to get their hands into education pocket. The compromised worked out might work for Muslims. If group wants to start Charter School, than best of luck to them.

The question is, as others have emphasised, should state-funded education be independant of religion?
I don't think we should allow anything other than State-Funded schools to exist. And all State-funded schools should be laic if we want to progress socially and obtain a truly integrated society.

There should be no state funding of any faith schools (of any religion). The Education system is there to provide an education for all. If parents wish to provide religious education that's fine but they shouldn't expect others to pay for it.

the state should not fund anything having to do with any particular religion....if they want an "only muslim" school...they should gather the resources to establish a private school

If Christians can't pray in public school and federal money can't be used to support religion, why would the Muslims be treated differently?

Public schools for muslims to me means that Muslims are allowed to go there just like any other public school, BUT they won't have privileges.

Wrong.
State funded schools should not teach any religion (I believe that the old church schools are no longer allowed to). If private schools want to provide religious education, that's there perogative.
