I'm at a point where I'm getting bored with my looks. Hair, Makeup, Nails, etc..

I'm debating whether I should highlight or color my hair. Right now it is a dark brown (almost black), and a little past shoulder length, not yet mid-back. I am using the Pantene Expressions for Brunettes, because I wanted to go natural, but I'm not sure if I should stick with that. Do Guys like highlights in a girl's hair!?

Also, short, clean, finger nails (manicured) OR a full set of sports length acrylic? I kind of like acrylic, because I can get creative, but they also damage my real nails.

AND Makeup... less is better right? Usually I go as natural as possible, and sometimes I get creative with different eyeshadow colors. I kind of feel like a lot of people where to much makeup, but it seems some guys like that.

Plus, should I wax my arms? I hate the hair on my arms... do guys like smooth, hair-free arms?

Sorry about all the questions. And thanks in advance! ;o)

i think that natural makeup is the best way to go no matter what.....i personally wouldnt go with acrylic nails because yes it could be damaging and a hasssle....i would nottt dye your hair entirely because many times when you dye very dark hair it looks super unnatural as a blond or something ya know??.....now i think its great that you are thinking of ways to improve your look without treatments and stuff but i have to say....dont worry about what the guys think so much!! there are so many guys that it would be impossible to make all of them happy!...if its a good guy he'll appreciate you a you look no matter what....oh and arms? i say save yourself the pain and suffering...i know one girl who did it and the way it grows back in is nasssty...plus it looks and feels really wierd....hope i helped you....good luck girl!

Wow... you are looking for some changes. Well, good for you! It is never bad to re-invent yourself every so often.

Step 1: do this for you... not because it's what "guys like." Do the "make-over" to make you happy!!

Step 2: once you start highlighting or dying your hair, you need to keep up with it. Keep the cost in mind when you make your decision. However, I think a nice, rich, golden brown would be nice to enhance your natural, dark brown.

Step 3: keep to your natural nails and keep them manicured. Don't risk the damage you have seen with the acrylics.

Step 4: Makeup is a personal choice. Go to a couple of beauty counters at the local department store and get the makeover. See what they suggest and then do what you think makes you look best. BTW... yes, less is more when dealing with makeup. You don't want to look like you are wearing a lot. Enhance your natural self.

Step 5: Waxing the arms... you call. Again, once you start, you will need to keep up with it. The stubble and cost may not be worth it. If it really bugs you... save up the money and do the laser hair removal. Make sure you go to a reputable clinic and try to find one that is using the new "cold" laser technology.

Good luck and have fun. Remember... when it comes to this stuff, it's all about YOU, not what other people think!!

Stick with your natural hair color. Guys really do appreciate it more than you think. And stop using Pantene! Pantene is terrible for your hair. The conditioner is full of silicone (it what makes your hair all shiny) that just coats your hair, weighs it down, and eventually damages your hair and makes it break off.

Don't put on acrylics. Like you said, they damage your nails and they get very expensive when you have to constantly fill them. Instead, invest in some good shampoo and conditioner like Matrix Biolage or some from TIGI (The Bedhead & Catwalk brand). Your hair will thank you for it!

Yes, natural make-up is good, but it is fun to experiment with eye color. Keep doing what you're doing!

Don't wax your arms! Unless you've got ridiculously dark and thick hair on your arms, they probably look fine. If you're self-conscious about the color, try a lightening creme first. Waxing it will just look really odd.

Be natural in your hair and make-up selections. The clean look is better than the "made up" look.

As for the nails, try getting gel nails. They aren't as hard on your own nails and look better, more natural than the acrylics do.

As for waxing arm hair... I don't think so.

Just go natural. If guys like anything but who you are, then you probably don't need those kind of guys. Changing for anyone isn't worth it in the end.

Good luck and God bless.

ok im not a boy but i have 2 fussy brothers. i think arclyic nails are best they will danage ur nails but u can treat that by getting cuticle treatment. i think u should put highlights through ur hair as it stands out more i have had highlights in my hair since i was 11 now im 19. i would never be natural colour again its just too boring. and hair on your arms leave them unless ur planning to do them all the time. no looks at hairs on arms. and i dont think lads will be that bothered either. make up i think u should go how you feel good

Wow..I've been there mid-way my senior year. I got a straight perm, I hi-lited my hair, wore foundation, and yup..I shaved my arms.

I regret most of it because the straight perm messed up my hair, damaged it badly and the hilites took away my natural color that I wish I could get back. Foundation also ruin your skin...but I like my smooth arms though.

So lesson learned...don't changed everything at once unless you're really certain...and get it done professionally.
