It is not illegal to download music, but it is illegal to allow music to be downloaded from your computer by others. As far as safety there are dozens of effective free filesharing clients out there, BUT many of them contain spyware and can cause damage to your system. Even those that do not contain spyware can open up your system to viruses and other malware. The main concern I would say is not getting busted but damaging your operating system. Unless you know how to stay safe I recommend staying away from free file sharing. I'm a PC tech so I know.

It's safe if you legally pay for it.

You should follow this guys journey against MPAA/RIAA, if he wins, he could set precedent.

i use limewire because technically all u r doin is file sharing not downloading music.....so its not as bad
