There are no muscles actually IN your breast. The breast is made up of sinew and fatty tissue. You have two chest muscles that sit underneath the breasts (on either side) called the pectoralis major and pectoralis minor. That is why men can develop 'pecs' through working out, because they don't have breasts per se.

There are fibers in your breasts that can create lumps. For instance, I have a fibrous mass in my right breast which is called a fibroadenoma. These can develop at any time and they are benign and not harmful. You can have them removed, or not, it is your choice. The fibroadenoma can swell slightly if you have your period or just before you have your period ... so it reacts during your cycle.

If you're concerned, go to the OB-GYN and have them check it out. Better for the MD to tell you that its nothing rather then leave it and have it be something.

There is no muscle in your breasts just milk glands and fatty tissue. The muscles are above your breasts or deep underneath.
As for the lumps, they're common during hormonal changes like pregnancy, menopause, period... I wouldn't worry too much about it but best be on the safe side and have it checked by a professional, only then can you rest in peace!

It's probably the pectoral muscle under the breast tissue. But see a doctor just in case.
