Place a damp wash cloth over the spot and set a warm iron over it. This will make the wood swell back up and fill the dent.

Here's something to try. Dampen a towel and iron the dent with an iron. The steam will penetrate the wood and expand the dent. The finish on the wood may make it difficult for the steam to get through but proceed slowly as you could end up having the opposite - a bump. I've used this technique on unfinished wood but never on a finished surface so proceed with caution. Parhaps you'll get some better suggestions.

I would sand it a bit, then use a wood filler, then stain it as close as you can to the stain color. You may weigh your options here because it may be less noticeable if you just leave it alone.
