After much consideration, I'd have to say greed.

Greed comes in the forms of greed for money, greed for things, greed for power.

Greed usually translates to acquiring at the expense of something else. For example, at the expense of better morality. At the expense of someone else having. At the expense of otherwise living in enlightenment and fulfillment.

Greed is empty and shallow. It's appetite can not be quenched, as it knows nothing else but the desire for more. It therefore, has no end and no function other than self destruction at the expense of others.

While lust may also be destructive if acted upon, it may also be appropriate, (such as lusting after ones spouse).

Lust suggests more of a temporary state of mind, while greed suggests the absence of a higher sense of being, and action already in motion.
