The Lebanese people is one of the most splintered countries in the world - demographically speaking and, therefore, any government that arose over the last many years - failed. The president gets murdered every few years if you've been following. Lebanon has been the scapegoat for the bully of the block all these years. In Lebanon, the strongest, meanest, nastiest armed group that happens to show up and take over rules (heavily supplied by Syrian arms and indirect Iranian support), until displaced, defeated or otherwise gotten rid of. This usually happens when the reigning group starts focusing their terror tactics toward the Israeli border and the Israelis try to run them out of firing range. The problem is that the terror groups, in this case Hezbolla uses, abuses and hides behind the Lebanese civilians wherever they happen to be, knowing that Israel is quite a bit more concerned about taking lives of innocent and even the not-so-innocent, yet uninvolved people than Hezbollah cares about their own people. Anyone who believes in suicide bombing as a righteous thing doesnt have any respect for anyone's life. This is the basic difference between fundamentalist Islam and Western religions of any variety.

Because they are not really against Hez., they never have been! This is a little game common among lunatic fascist cowards where they try to separate themselves from the terrorists by "claiming that Hez. is an outside organization that just "cant" be controlled. Where was Lebanon condemning all the deaths on the Israeli side for so many years!? Where was the condemnation from all the other Arab nations!? Nowhere! Never would happen, because the teachings of these Islamic fascist regimes are to destroy Jews period! Call it hate; call it jealousy, who cares...that point MUST be understood. See what this brave Palestinian has to say. If you won’t take my word for it, Google his name, read his book.

From what I understand it's kind of the same thing how Hitler came into power in Germany. Hezbollah promised the people of Lebanon help, and delivered, and kind of just settled in there and took power.

All the possibilities may be right. And now, since there is the UN, which should promote peace, the UN should impose a ceasefire and disarm the Hezbollah.
