Spybot s&d is also free...They both do great scans sometimes ad-aware will catch spyware which spybot s&d can't find and vice versa...

Euhm space man AVG is good but not the best check your facts...

I recommend Pc cillin internet security suite that will also protect you from malicious threats like hackers...It's not only an antivirus program I had AVG once and i put both AVG and Pc cillin to the test for virusses i did a scan well too bad AVG failed the test since it only catched 2 virusses while pc cillin catched over 10 virusses and i had the virusses (safe) preinstalled for that test to see how good both work..Although pc cillin isn't free it is a good program for virusses and malicious programs like spyware,adware,malware and also protects against hackers and keeps your ip adress completely safe.Spywareblaster well i had it once till i heard about winpatrol which is alot better not only rated better by cnet but also by the users and myself it has alot more functions and it protects your pc better.

If you have the budget get an internet security suite which will protect you very well try to avoid Internet explorer since it is very fragile with spyware and spyware easily installates itself through internet..The most used and best rated browser with the most capabilities,security and add-ons (also faster then IE) is mozilla firefox!

All of the following are free, and you need more than just Anti-Spyware. You also need Anti-Virus and a Good Firewall.

I use all of the following Free software with Windows XP SP2 and Internet Explorer with MSN toolbar and the pop-up blocker turned on and have never had a single problem with my computer sense Microsoft came out with SP2.
