It's started and I have seen some spectacular meteors! What are your plans for watching?

excellent! The moon is low where I live so, it won't be too much of an issue. I'm planning on sleeping out on my deck with my husband and just lay out and watch the show! Nice to "meet" fellow stargazers!

Indeed...one of nature's grand spectacles! The Perseids should be up to about 1/4 of maximum by now...August 12, Saturday night/Sunday morning is the peak.

My normal plans for meteor showers are to camp out overnight, sleep under the stars, and set an alarm for 2:00 am. Then just open my eyes and watch the show, warm and cozy in my sleeping bag...so much the better if it's a double with my wife at my side.

Alas, this year a nearly full moon will be shining brightly in those best predawn hours...drowning out all of the dimmer meteors. Partly because of that, but mostly because of life with a 2-year old, my amateur astronomy endeavors are on hold for this one.
