I definitely expected a winning season. It is hard to find excuses here. They simply didn't get it done. And Sheets' injuries haven't really helped matters. I feel his future is uncertain. And that is a shame because I felt he was headed towards greatness. Anyways, another losing season is tough to stomach for the Brewers.

No offense, but the Brewers shouldn't have been expected to compete with the team they've had for most of the season. The players they picked up from my Rangers in the Carlos Lee trade should help long term, but I think you're still a year or two away, assuming you can pick up one or two good players via free agency or through a trade. I'm all for a Brewers-Rangers World Series in '08...

Doug Davis was their Opening Day starter. That told me all I needed to know about the Brewers this year. They've actually exceeded my expectations.

I thought they would be over .500. They still could be.
The Brewers might end up with the wild card. They are only 4.5 games back.

i think that the brewers were a bit of a surprise, considering that they were still in the wild card race a couple weeks ago. but i would watch out for them next year, as bill hall and ricky weeks and their other young players mature.
