What version of Mac OS X are you trying to run? I work with apple tech support. Check out this sight. It will give you further self help/resources.

I have an iMac g5 running OSX (Tiger) with a 512mb of ram and it runs very well. I will stick in 1gb at somepoint to take it to 1.5gb. It is worth mentioning that OSX is generally more efficient with memory than Windows.
I think that has a lot to do with OSX's Unix underpinning.

You'll need a g3 at least methinks, but I wouldn't recommend it without a G4...


Which one? 10.3 will run comfortably on a G3, 10.4 wont

You need an Apple built computer, and they tend to come with it anyway
