WHAT? A Harley with a defect. Noooooo....shouda bought a Suzuki. Haven't had any problems with mine. It doesn't even leak oil.

Road Kings do not use sensors for the Speedometer, So no need to worry much.

Its the Speedometer cable. Between the speedometer and the front wheel.

Check for loose connections or wear and tear on the cable end.. Or the cable might have snapped, due to wear and tear. Try replacement, if damaged. Shouldn't cost much.

Depending on the year, it may be an electronic speedo. 2002 was notorious for failing speedo's. Sorry, but dealer item only!

ditto "isz rossi". remove the speedo cable and pull wire out of it. I'd bet a dollar to a donut that it comes out in two pieces.

Electric speedos have a pick up/ sensor at trans. check the sensor to be sure it is tight and check wire fro sensor to speedo.

J/K - Harleys vibrate check the conection of the speedo at the transmission, i bet it's loose...
