I have 2 small children and we have been w/ out air since friday. It could've been fixed on friday but my landlord wouldn't approve the piece for the price they wanted. They said to wait til monday to find a cheaper one. It is now tuesday and it won't be fixed til later this evening. I owe on back rent, should I be able to get an adjustment on that back amount or on next months rent for this. We live in southwest florida on it has been around 100 degrees in our house WITH all the fans on and windows and doors open.

You can only claim reduction on the rent if you are fully payed up.

I wish the best of luck to you all and a fresh breeze every evening.

First go to the library & check if you a Landlord Tennant Act for your city( You probably do). Did you notify your Landlord in writing
regarding the repair? Then get the estimate in writing. If he doesnt
comply in a reasonable fashion you should be able to write off that repair. Please check & read the Landlord, Tennant Act. Good Luck.
