i am taking clomid now. last month when i took it for the first time (50mg per day, days 5-9 of my cycle) i had to many eggs develope (14 on one ovary and 1 on the other). the doctor WILL NOT do an insemination and STRONGLY URGES you to not try to conceive when so many eggs are present.. so reluctantly we let the cycle go. THIS MONTH, however, i had only 2 eggs on one ovary and 1 egg on the other THIS MONTH WAS A GO! i had one insemination on saturday and one monday morning. this was my first insemination cycle. on the 18th of august (first day of my expected period) i have a standing order for a blood test. i will know by that afternoon!!! (OF COURSE, i have the option of doing home tests two days prior, and you know i won't be able to resist). i don't know of anyone else that has used clomid for fertility... but all it basically does is give your body hormones that forces it to mature the follicles which as a result forces a person to ovulate. because you are developing more than the typical- one egg per cycle- it does have an increased chance in multiples... some say as much as a 25% chance. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

My older sister took clomid for 2 cycles and went on vacation and for got to take it with her when she went....Needless to say, when she returned, she resumed taking them, and found out a few weeks later she had conceived, she will never know if it was the clomid that time, or just mother nature, but she has since used clomid and gave birth to 2 more girls...
Good Luck, and may GOD pour his blessings into your life and make you a Mommy!

I have never used it, but the nurse for one of my old doctors was only on it for one month before getting pregnant with her son.
