Thanks for the info, never thought about them hanging better inside. Makes sense to me, I always had them hung outside and was a mess to deal with for sure

Hi daffy. I think most prefer inside mount. It is a little cleaner looking than an outside mount application. I think those who mount on the outside do it because of lack of depth. For most faux wood blinds you will need 3" of depth to have a fully recessed fit. However you only need 1 1/2" of depth to do a minimum inside mount. This just means it will stick out into the room a little. This actually is very common due to the new windows like Pella and Anderson which have very little depth to mount. I will provide a link below to the best measuring methods. I hope this helps. Have a great day.

Inside mounting looks so much better. If you are afraid to do this yourself get a handyman. They usually only charge you 20 or 30 an hour and it should not take them long.

Seriously, you will regret it if you do it on the outside of the window :-)

If you have 2 inches inside the window to put the blind it looks best. Otherwise it won't hang straight.

I have these blinds inside the windows & am very happy w/ the way they look. If you are going to put curtains or drapes, they also look better inside.
