Use it to better yourself. Learn from it, analyze it, weigh and consider. Oh and by the way welcome to the club, you are not alone in this. We ALL make mistakes. The best thing is you are aware it was a mistake. Which means you are sincere. Would you rather not care about how you feel about it? Would you want to be that kind of person? I think not, it's a good thing what you feel. Be honest about it, because we all do it. Own up to it and chalk it up to experience like we all should do. Some don't and that's because they are afraid. So chose what type of person you want to be and be it. Good luck I hope this helps.

Everyone has things in their past they'd like to forget. You are awfully hard on yourself if you are unable to forgive yourself. The best I can suggest for you is to do what I did, make each day from here on, better than the last. Go out of your way to help others in any way you can. As long as you learn from your mistakes, you will eventually forgive what you may have done. It's what makes us human. No one is perfect, we all err. Relax, enjoy the new you. Life is too short to live in the past. Building a better future is your way out. Hang in there and best wishes in the days ahead.

No need to forget. Only the recalling the past has to be at will, so that it does not spoil the future !
So , analyse the past event, see if anything can be done about it, and you will have only 2 choices, either do something, or nothing more to do about it. Either way worry is over. So the past will stop pestering (that means the past will appear only when you recall for verification, comparison for better judgement of the future situation, for using the experience !).

You will never forget, and that is best. Examine the situation, see what you can learn from it, realize you made a mistake, own the mistake, and move on. Don't dwell on it. When you face a similar situation, you will remember the consequences of your previous action. Learn from it and don't repeat it. Everyone makes mistakes. Others usually forgive us and forget about it long before we do. We are our hardest critics.

Two things : If you think you did wrong with a friend and now repenting, simply contact him or her and let the friend know your pure intention and extend your hand for new dawn of friendship once again......if this is not true....then it must be something relating with your family and might have disturbed them on some account.....they too will forgive you if you talk with them freely. Time is still with you as you are opening discussing this problem here on Yahoo Q&A....so I think there is no problem for you to get that much freeness with those around you.....Try it.

Yes stop feeling sorry for yourself and remembering past and instead of it start making a plan to correct all those things you think you can correct from those supposed mistakes.
Get in action to correct those things and in case you can't correct those, accept them and move on promising yourself you won't make the same mistakes.

Don't ever forget about it. Remeber it.. remeber that it was in the past and learn from it. Don't make the mistake again. Know that those mistakes have made you a better person.. be able to say " I have made mistakes in the past .. BUT".. don't forget. Learn from it, and know that you want to live better.
