The Oedipus theory states that all young boys want to kill their father so they can have sex with their mother. And the Elektra theory states that little girls believe they were born with a penis and their mother cut it off, therefore, little girls want to kill their mother so they can have sex with their father. They also suffer penis envy and wish they could masturbate easily like boys do. Ever notice how little girls bond with their father and little boys bond with their mother? Well, kinda. I consider him my cousin, but he is in no way related to me. My mom's dad remarried and adopted a baby (who is now my aunt) so she's my mom's step sister.
