The Egyptians are indeed tolerant of tourists eating and drinking during Ramadan. Best bet is to eat an early breakfast, have dinner after sunset (great meals everywhere to break the fast) and carry bottled water discretely during the day.
If you need food in the daytime, try to eat in a tourist hotel. You won't be alone. In the tourist areas - Cairo, Luxor, Aswan and Sharm, the locals are quite used to seeing westerners and probably will not take offense.

I think it's OK ... try not to show it very much that you're enjoying food and drink during day.... always stick to what the guide says ... Egypt in Ramadan is very pretty and you're lucky to come at that time ... I'm an Egyptian Christian and I enjoy it so much ... the streets are decorated, TV shows are wounderfull, food is great and all the time (not only in Ramadan) people are nice
Welcome to Egypt

There will be no problem at all, you can buy food, drink, etc
because Muslim accept all religions.
There are many Christians living their normal life in Ramadan, further more are enjoying Egyptian Ramadan habit es and fun.
Ramadan fasting teach Muslin determination, passionate, and to feel how poor people suffer so if you are a Muslim and had your reason not to fast then it would be good to hide your self when eating or drinking as much as u can.
Do not be so sensitive, and have a nice trip.

If you intend on visiting Egypt during Ramadan then try hard not to eat & drink in public. No one will hold it against you and you wont be getting any hard time for it but try and do so as discreetly as possible. Most people would be fasting and it is really tough on them, so be a nice understanding person as much as possible.

........If you're not a muslim then you don't have to fast....
but it would be nice not to show how much you're enjoying your food or water (or whatever) in front of the others....even thought you're not required to...
You don't need to be too sensitive about it...but don't be vulgar as well...
