You have fallen into the trap of blaming people who are much like yourself instead of blaming the very rich and powerful people who make the policies which are putting you into this unfortunate situation. The overall policy goal is to keep people at your level of wealth -- and those below it -- in a perpetual state of neediness. That way, you are on your knees begging for jobs instead of on your feet demanding good pay, safe working conditions, consumer protections, and so on. Badly needed public services, like GOOD free public education, GOOD affordable childcare, GOOD health care for all, GOOD public transportation and so on, are dying from lack of funding. Simultaneously, wealthy individuals and large corporations are shouldering less of the tax burden than ever before.
It's not your fellow strugglers who are your enemies -- it's the people who are putting BOTH you AND your even less well-off neighbors into this 'can't get ahead' position. Reach out to your natural allies instead of being brainwashed into division and weakness.

We have a strange culture here, that is for sure. The middle class is a designation for a class of people that the Government is working hard to eliminate. This elimination comes in the form of additional costs, as you have described, and taxes. The upper class enjoy tax loopholes that allow them to get wealthier while paying a nominal amount of taxes. The lower classes are not taxed and usually get more in benefits than they are paying in taxes. The government's concept is to put the bill for illegal immigrants and the social programs for the poor directly on the shoulders of the middle class. Thereby dooming it to eventual extinction. The concept is move up or move down, but do not stay in the middle. If you work for wages you are slated for future replacement by an immigrant who will work for less than you. If you work with the public, you must be bi-lingual, or you too will be gone. Americans have allowed this to get worse since the Ronald Reagan era. We could have paid attention and voted a different set of politicians unto office, but we were caught up in the moment ant allowed our futures to get undermined by the same Government that claims to be there representing us. When is the last time you saw a piece of legislation that helped a working, tax paying individual have a better life. Instead you have watched the erosion of the middle class by escalating costs for necessities and the decline of wages that were here when American products were the best in the world. The middle class have had it stuck so far up their rears that they have become used to it. I say we need to get a voice and vote out both political parties that are in power, or there will be just one more third world country, the USA.

Love your nick. It is because the power has shifted to the very rich. The poor and middle class always suffer with supply side econonmics. Repuglicans do not care about what is good for the country, they only care about what is good for them and their rich friends. Poor people do not have it made as is perceived and the middle class are the ones that pay for it. Because the can. When the revolution comes and wealth is more evenly distributed then and only then will the middle class receive its rightful place in America. This should happen because the middle class is the backbone of America.

Because without a permanent underclass sucking from the government's tit$, the Democrats would not have anyone to vote for them, except people like Hichefheidi, Michelle, JW, and Beachbum, who are either lesbians or anal pirates, 2-million-babies-murdered-each-year abortion fanatics, or flat out Anti-American traitors.

Because we are stupid enough to vote for democrates over and over again. Believe me, I am just as mad about it as you are. Republicans wants everyone to work for a living, but democrates want to make us citizens of the state, as communists. It is happening, but so slowly, you cannot see it. If you want everything for nothing, don't complain, you will soon get it.

Because "middle class" isn't middle class any more. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. It will only get worse in the future.....

Because you give back to society while they don't. The system doesn't work, rich people don't have a problem and others abuse the welfare system who are able bodied.
