Advice is like snow, the softer it falls, the longer it dwells upon, and the deeper it sinks to the mind.

This very well depend on the person who received advise and the person who gives it. If the person who gives the advice is practicing it, it will have deeper effect in the mind of a listener. Just imagine a situation in which a smoker father advises his son the quit smoking.

my saying is
advice is like fine rice which they grew
but nobody knew where did they go
was it like the snow did it have a home
or did the mellon grace have its place
among the meadows sweet blue crow

Sometimes if you keep telling a person his/her faults they are less likely to ever listen to you. Just like of you tell a baby not to drink ink, he wants to drink the ink, its human nature.

On the other hand if you tell a person your point softly, somewhere down in their soul it will register and they may listen to your advice

This is my 2 cents :)

advice is like snow, it exists for a bit, long enough to ponder, and then just melts away?
