Well, yes I talk to strangers on line when I am bored, but I also enjoy meeting new people. This is a great way to see how other people handle situations you may be going through at the same time.
Talking to strangers on line feels safe. You don't have to sit down and meet them fact to face. You are free to cut them off at any time if something they say makes you feel uncomfortable. They can't see you, so you sometimes open up and say more than you would to a friend that you talk to every day.

Maybe it is b/c you have no one else to talk to or your friends aren't giving you the feed back you need, maybe you want to be sociable and there is no one else to be sociable with. I think it is nice to be able to chat with real people at any given time and to ask questions and answer them about anything and get real feed back, if it weren't for my groups and yahoo answers and questions I'd be really really unhappy with feelings of being a lone and like no one else cares... For me it is a way to feel like a am finally a part of someting and that someone does want to hear my opinion.

i think for yahoo answers not only our we helping others but it helps us too some people cant afford therapy some people are looking for a quick solution and it makes us realize in some situations we are not alone some people may not have anyone to turn to and its past time for you and only you you can tune everything around you out and that's relaxing to me.

I like it because I can vent and say exactly what I feel at the time and I find others who identify with me.

I think its addictive an idol mind is the devils workshop my mom use to say !!!!! We got to find something to keep our minds busy and the computer just happen to be that thing of interest!!!
