I cant show you around, but I can offer places to go & things to do, I've lived here all my life.

There is usually alot going on in August, like fairs & outdoor concerts, I will try to find a website that lists everything.

If you give me your age and what you like to do I'll make suggestions.

Oh, and brace yourself for winters here, they're really cold, they suck.

Look here >> http://www.post-gazette.com/events/

(click on the "summer concert series", they are outdoor and free.)
There are also concerts (bigger concerts) at Post Gazette Pavillion, IC Light Ampitheatre, PNC Park, Mellon Arena

Also look at the "Cinema in the Park" link, those are outdoor & free too.

If you work or go to school downtown walk over to Market Square during lunch

There are often events going on at the Point, festivals, concerts, regatta (which is already over this summer) etc

Suggestions for any age: Kennywood park, Sandcastle, Idewild, Pgh Zoo. Kennywood has "phantoms in the park" in Sept. & Oct, its for teens & adults over age 13, thats fun.

Over 21: Strip District or Southside & Station Square. In October check out Octoberfest at one of the breweries, too

As the other two answers said...there is so much to do here. Best bet would be to check out www.Pittsburgh.com I really enjoy hanging out in the Southside. If you like coffee, hit up The Beehive. It's in the Southside, and THE best coffee house ever. Also, many different museums, plus the science center. Several parks, including The Point. River Boat rides. The Zoo, which is one of the best. I moved to Carnegie from Washington, PA last year, and still finding new places to go to, so now I bought a house, over by Brighton Heights and plan on staying in the area. Pittsburgh rocks.

I don't want to show you around but I will suggest some good places to go.

Market Square - Thursdays in the afternoon they have bands and food stands. Lots of good things going on there...

Station Square - Friday evenings has WDVE (http://www.dve.com/main.html) a local radio station set up in the street with music and drinking.

There are a few really nice parks in Pittsburgh also...http://www.city.pittsburgh.pa.us/parks/

You might want to check out the Fort Pitt Museum...http://www.fortpittmuseum.com/

If you like water parks we have Sandcastle....http://www.sandcastlewaterpark.com/

Roller coasters? http://www.kennywood.com/

Also, there are some good clubs...

Matrix...http://www.pghnightlife.com/matrix_home.php

Margartia Mamas... http://www.margaritamamas.net/

This site has a list of all the clubs in and around the city some of which are 18 and over... http://www.clubzone.com/company/index.asp?city=103

There is also really good shopping in Pittsburgh. On Smithfield St alone we have Kaufmann's, Sax 5th Ave and a Burlington's
