There were some great ones out there: Poseidon Adventure, Towering Inferno, Earthquake, etc...

But there were also some really bad ones that fell into the Disaster Movie craze.

Remember Pirranaha? Or Octopus? Or Alligator and Alligator 2?

Tell me about your favorite "bad" disaster flick and why you liked it (you know you did!)

I did like a few 70 's and early 80 disaster flicks like Barron Blood, Swarm, Humanoids From the Deep, Scanners, Patrick,
The Legacy. They scared me back then, but now I realize how korney they were.

not sure if your example of 'bad disaster movies' is right, they were more monster movies.

Poseidon and Return to the Poseidon were both great just for having Michael Caine and Gene Hackman as the leads

There was one about giant ants called "Them". It was so ridiculous that it was funny. I remember the good ones. I was in high school then and we spent Saturday afternoon at the mall, checking out the newest disaster flick. Thanks for the memories.

Poseidon Adventure rocked! - I think it is so pathetic that they keep on re-making these! The originals will ALWAYS be way cooler.

Don't remember if this was the name but I think it was called "The Morning After" and it was about a nuclear war.
