Our life was better before. We lived together for 8 years, then decided to get married as a formality. We said nothing would change; "marriage" was just a word, but it has caused us both so many problems! We got married 12 years ago and I only know that because I had to look it up for some document. Those 12 years have not been very happy. We are still together, in a sense, but I often wonder what for.
We love each other for sure. But it is no bed of roses and I think I am not the marrying kind; I just love my independence too much.
It works for some but is hell for others.

I am happy in my marriage. We dated for a long time and now we are married. When I look back I dont know how i lived without my husband. I dont miss my single life because if I wanted some time alone I can still have it even though I sleep with my honey every night.

Not married, but I am under the impression that marriage is similar to dating seriously with a little more responsibilities. I think that nobody is going to be happy all the time in or out of marriage, but the question is are you in love with the person you are married to. Nothing is always rosey, but that doesn't mean that deep down the core isn't strong.

I am very happy to be married to my husband (even though he annoyed me slightly recently). I am in love with him and wouldn't want to be with anyone else. My life is so much better now than it was before I met him. It's great to date and party but there comes a time when it means nothing and one just wants to settle down with someone special that loves you for who you are. So yes, life is so much better.

Yes. We were together/living together for 3 years before marriage, and we had a child before marriage too. He asked me to marry him on Christmas day, and we got married on August 10th the following year. That was almost 3 yrs ago, and we have since had another child. The reason I feel like my life is better now than before is that he is totally committed to me. He's mine, forever, to grow old with. I know that marriage is just a ring, and a piece of paper... but it signifies soooooo much more.

It's made no difference. We cohabited for twenty three years and have a 15 year old son. It was worth getting married just to see the look on my son's face.
We are a happy family and all the best of friends.
We only got married three years ago to make it easier to register as foster parents.

I can honestly say that married life suits me. I like it. It's not always a walk in the park (what marriage is?), but it's stable and comparing it to be single, I'm not alone anymore. I hate being alone, been alone entirely too much in my life. I like having a partner to share things with.

Been married 23 years and i must admit all my single mates go on fantastic holidays and can do what they want with no financial ties but they envy my life being skint with a wife and kids.So it looks like i have the better deal.

I've been married for close to five years. My life has improved dramatically. You have to find the right person to motivate you to be the best you can be and that can make you happy.

Very happily married. Life is great no matter what. You just have to make the decision that you are going to be happy and enjoy life no matter what. Life is too short not to enjoy it.
