Rape is such a horrible crime. It's terrible that people would lie about it. My bf had his buddies over. One of the guys, Jim, wasn't there. They told me he was laying low at home. Jim is a young husband and father. A couple weeks ago he was driving the babysitter home and she made a pass at him. Jim turned her down, dropped her off, and told his wife what happened. 2 hours later the cops were at his door saying the babysitter accused him of rape. He had to sit in jail all weekend, his car was confiscated because it was a crime scene, he had a big family function the following day he had to miss, & he had to call off work on Monday & explain why. There was lack of evidence & the babysitter admitted that she lied. Because she was a minor she got a slap on the wrist & had to write an apology letter to Jim. All of the guys hanging out with my bf know someone who has been accused of rape that didn't happen. The accusers are different ages & from different walks of life.

I do acctually, this happened about 15 years ago, to a man that my mother had gone to school with, and also a close friend. It was his niece that accused him of it, she was already sexually active with her boyfriend at that time, she was claiming that she wasnt..... there was no proof and although he didnt acctually do it, he recieved 15 months in prison and a 2 year good behaviour bond and no contact with persons under 16 for a further year, the poor guy wound up with severe mental issues, nearly topped himself twice because of the stress and ended up living like a recluse in the middle of nowhere so that people couldnt find him.

I think it is a disgusting perversion of justice when people can just accuse others of sordid abuse, and there not be and evidence to substansiate the claim.....do people not realise how many people they are hurting and how many lives are being ruined in the process.

I can understand why people go to the law when it has acctually happened, hey im one of those people myself, but for gods sake, have proof and dont accuse innocent men. Think of how many lives you are ruining!!!!

One of my friends was accused of rape and it didn't happen. It was kind of the same situation. The girl made a pass at him, he turned her down so she accused him of rape. It was so bad with him because we were in the military then. He not only had to deal with the civilian side of things but also the military. It was a mess. In the end she said she had lied about the whole thing. Once you are accused of something like that people never look at you the same way.

My little brother was invited to this girls house when he was 16, she was 16 and had 3 other friends over. They were smoking weed and getting drunk and offered him both. He passed out on her couch drunk (he didn't smoke the weed). A couple of days later the police came and arrested him for raping the girl who invited him over. She said he had sex with her while she was passed out. He was still a virgin at the time and didn't know what was going on, he didn't do anything but hang out drink and pass out. After he was arrested, he filed charges against her for offering him drugs and alchohol and she was arrested. After a couple of weeks and realizing that she was probably going to go to Juvinile for drugs/distributing and contributing to delinquency of a minor, she dropped the rape charges, not to mention that the other people there refused to get up on the stand and collaborate her story, they all said she was full of it and it never happened. In the end they both walked away, her with a fine and him with nothing, just lost time and money on a lawyer. After she turned 18, she got arrested for dealing and and last I heard got like 10 years in prison, so what comes around goes around.

yes i know what u mean i have a best friend and was going through the same thing. the thing was that the girl he was with asked him to go to bedroom with her and he said yes. it not called rape when she wants it. this all happened at a party we went to cuz we were smoking and drinking so what ever happened so i left with my friend to the store as soon as he went in to the room with the girl. so when we got back to the party we were there for about 2 more hours and the gurl and my best friend were sitting there with us. so then he told me "lets go" i said yea so we left and i guess she didn't like that fact that he left with me and didn't stay with her. so then we alread had left the party when we get pulled over by the cops and my best friend was driving so they took him because he was accused for her rape. so then we followed the cops to the sation so they were going to hold him until monday and on monday he will have court so the gurl was taken to the hospital and then we were with at court with him. at court they couldn't prove that he rapped her so when they were in the room together the were just kicking it so he was let free and she had to pay a fine because she was lying the she trying she was under age the should get charger with that to but the judge told her she was crazy to pay the fine and go so we left and she kept telling she was sorry and for him to get back together and he said no. but guess who got with him yes that is me he is with now. so everything still good with everything...........so good luck with everything

Before I was his wife, my husband was accused of rape. Not to the extent Jim went through. My husband's ex, left him and took their baby. She told one of their mutual friends that he had raped her, so she left. However, when he took her to court, the story changed. The real story is, she left him for another guy and she didn't want to loss custody of the baby. In the end, he got the better end of the deal, full custody of his daughter.

I'm sorry to hear that.
Well, if the girl admitted
she was lying, that pretty
much says it all. Has anyone
spoken to her parents? Even though
the truth came out, the fact that she
even accused him will stick for a while.
It carries a stigma, possibly for a long time.
He could probably sue for slander or defamation
of character.Good luck.

NO. But a friend of mine got accused of committing a lewd and indecent act. Although he was innocent, he pleaded guilty since it was only a misdemeanor and easier to get it over with. I'm sure there are a lot of guys in jail for sex crimes that are innocent.
