Find a Seventh Day Adventist. They tend to be really somber and quite, especially when they work.

Mine is unbelievably quiet. You can actually talk on the phone in the same room when it is on. It is a Kenmore (Sears) but is actually made, I believe, by Kitchenaid. They actually rate how quiet the machine is; ask the salesman.

It is one of the more expensive models, of course. I believe it was about $500 a few years ago. It has a stainless exterior but a plastic interior, and some extra insulation. The controls are electronic. I wish I had the exact model number for you, but they probably changed it by now anyway. The best thing to do is actually ask the salesman about the quiet factor.

we were remodeling our kitchen a year ago and we were shopping for a dishwasher, we were told that the higher the number the quiet it will be .we bought Bosch but the kitchen aid was in the running. Years ago we bought kitchen aid and lasted 15 years with everyday use,we got the top of the line called Superba. good luck shopping.

We recently bought a Kenmore dishwasher that is quiet -- unfortunately I am not at home right now, so I can't give you the model number.
I can have the model name on Thursday if you want to email me then -- ddgowler@mts.net

The other day I was talking to someone at work who just bought a dishwasher and said it was the quietest dishwasher you can't even hear it. It was a Bosch.

I'd like to say that if you don't use TOO many dishes, I'd volunteer to wash your dishes quietly.....but that won't work, so, how about the whirlpool dishwasher.....we have one at home and it is as quiet as quiet can be.

Good Luck!

Sears has models that are considered quiet. Ask the salesperson which ones are their quieter models. They usually cost a little more.
