If you were a superhero and needed a secret base of operations where would it be and why do you choose that location.

A big industrial complex in a run-down urban area, surrounded by lots of warehouses, with tunnels beneath them so that you could come and go in different directions, and nobody would be able to pin down the actual location. Surrounded by slums, so that any witnesses would be less likely to be credible.
Actually, if I get to choose my super powers as well, why not on the Moon where nobody could reach it or mess with it, or in the Marianas trench (a la Miracleman), same reasons. Plenty of privacy. But in the first example, I was thinking of someone like Batman who is limited in his super powers.

Under the streets of New York in the maze of tunnels not used for subway trains. People don't usually go there alot unless they are bad guys trying to hide also. So, I could fight crime without haveing to go very far to begin with. Then, after I had enough practice with the mole-people, I could go top-side and fight the crime in New York. And, that's where people would expect to find a superhero, way up high on a skyscraper, swooping down to get the villains.

In a storage locker because if your a new superhero and just starting out money is going to be tight, and superhero's true superhero's don't sell out for money, so they have to rely on the kindness of others, like spawn living in a back of an alleyway, this is realistic. i mean sure you could bring in criminals for money but then you would be a bounty hunter not a superhero, and selling out to corporations for endorsement deals is morally wrong, superhero's should be Honor bound not to give in to greed of money and work for a corporation or a company.

I would put my base of operation under the New York City Subway system
it's below ground so nobody could find it and the train tunnels let me get anywhere in the city quickly( if I couldn't fly and faster with super speed because the lack of traffic)

It would be a secret apartment in the poorest section of town. That way if anyone saw me in my superhero costume (doing superhero stuff), i could explain it to them as they must have been hallucinating from the drugs & booze they must be on.
(please don't take that to mean that I am saying everyone that is poor is an alcoholic drug user)

I kinda like both Cable's orbital space station filled with future tech, and the X-Mansion with the Danger Room et al.

i would have one on the moon, no one can get their, the space program doesn't even care about the moon any more, you could get to anyplace on earth easy, as long as you could go into space and set the base up some how you would be set, don't have to worry about anyone finding it, you could look down on earth and they would never know, oh crap i didn't read the others before answering lol someone else said the moon lol

I would choose a warehouse in Denver, Colorado. It has a lot of mountains and is near where I was born.
