I knit and crochet but i prefer KNITTING.

Pros and Cons:
-Knitting doesn't hurt the wrist, crochet tends to hurt over time (unless you're a hardcore crocheter)
-Knitting allows for a tighter weave, whereas in order to get more cloth-like weave, you'd have to do single crochet with smaller needles, and that takes a lot of time!
-Crochet is more "elegant" than knitting (think doilies and pretty shawls), but knitting is more serviceable.
-Knitting is easier to correct mistakes than crochet
-Knitting uses a counter to count rows, whereas crochet doesn't, and sometimes you have to add chains to ends to make another row. talk about confusing! More math involved.
-Knitting is far more relaxing than crochet, makes nice usable stuff, and is so much more versatile than crochet.
-Knitting instructions are easier to read... it's all basically knit and purl!!!
-As time goes by, with both, you won't have to "pay attention to the work". I have crochetted with my eyes closed before... and know of a blind woman who knits... but I do agree that knitting is much faster than crochet!

Hope this helps :)

I am also a knitter and crocheter, and I generally like knits better even though crocheting is usually a faster job. I think there's something more attractive in general to the knit than a crochet, but then again I would rather have a crocheted blanket than a knit one. Knits are usually more comfortable to wear, but nothing compares to how unique a crocheted piece can look.

I do both and what I prefer depends on what my goal is. If I want to make myself a sweater, I'll knit it. Knitting produces a smoother, nicer looking fabric (even if I were making a shawl or something I would knit it - lace knitting is much prettier to me than crochet). However, if I want to make a flower or something with a lot of intricate shaping (like a puppet or a toy), I'll crochet it. Knitting isn't well-suited for that type of thing, but with crochet you can make any shape you want.

I knit and crochet. It depends on what your project is and what you like the best. I think crocheting is faster. I have taught many people to crochet in this past year. We have done many projects as a group and also items for ourselves.

I personally like knitting better. I don't know how to crochet, I have tried to learn, but I'm faster and better at knitting.

For me, crochet is better, because I can't knit -- can't keep the yarn tension loose enough, and have trouble figuring out the stitches. I can do crochet almost without thinking about it, though, and don't even use patterns for things like hats and scarves. The one problem is, I can't make a cable sweater with crochet. *sigh*

It's all just a matter of personal taste. I can do both, but I definitely prefer knitting. I can almost do it in my sleep, but I have seen women crochet without looking at the work. Like said--personal taste.
