I am starting football and need to know what position would be good for me. I am 215- 220 pounds and 5'7, I am not a fast runner but may be a good tackler. Waht position should I play?

And by the way: do the football pants come in different sizes? I see the guys on T.V and their belly hangs over their pants. It may happen to me since I am big. It may be uncomfortable. What is the biggest size in the pant, I dont want that to happen to me.

First the easy answer, yes the pants come in different sizes so dotn worry about that. Now on to the more difficult one. How old are you, if you are playing youth league football you will most likely want to be on the offensive or defensive line. Defese in more fun if you like to hit adn tackle of course. If you are playing high school level, you maybe too short for the offensive line, but maybe a good interior line man on defense. The speed will come with work, on offense you could very well be a good blocking fullback too, so look into that. You have the size to be a smashing fullback, and all great tailbacks needs a great fullback to block for them. Just have fun with the game no matter which position you play.

Well it depends on your age too. What kind of football are you playing? Pop Warner, High school?
In most cases your coach will tell you what position is best for you. Obviously you're not going to be a Corner back or a Wide Receiver but O or D line might work for you.

I'd probably suggest you can either do the nose, right/left guard,
if you want to play in the defense then any of the lineman position will be good.

if you think you can improve on your speed you may have a chance as Linebacker position.

I can't remember pant size sorry ;(

You might have to purchase your pants from a specialty shop you should look on the net...O-line D-line are obvious choices but maybe you should try out MLB Middle Linebacker position they usually defend a limited amount of space and you get to stand up and roam around and blitz if the coach lets you.

You should be a lineman (offensive or defensive). Defensive line is probably more fun, though.
