I've tried the usual over the counter remedies like Vanish carpet cleaner and things like that. Vanish sort of bleached the carpet and turned it a funny reddish tinge! the carpet is a very light beige. Help!

if u just spilled it, then soak a wet towel in hot water, but make it quick. then quilky dab the towel on the carpet where the stain is, keeps dabbing and let the towel soak up the stain. (this always works if the stain was there for 1-45 minutes, it just doesn't come off as good) I dunno about this idea, but you can try using polish remover, smear it on the towel, then soak it up, or smear it around the stain. Or, u can go 2 Home Depot and Menards or Walgreens, or any of those stuff. and you can buy some magic carpet cleaner, and stuff like that. Hope this helps!

My friend recommended this to me, and after trying other things unsuccessfully i tried this. It is so cheap (89p) that i thought it couldn't possibly work ,but it did. My carpet is also wool.
It's called Astonish Carpet Shampoo and is from Wilkinsons branches. Hope it works.
