At 13 I started soliciting my neighbors up and down my street and other streets for an agreement to mow their lawns in summer. In my first week I had signed up over a dozen. To maintain this base, I got my neighbor involved, as he was two years younger that I was and wanted to work. As the weeks continued, my base grew to almost 40 lawns. So I took on more neighbor friend to help. In actuality, I charged each customer $7 per mow, and paid my neighbor friends $4 to $5. By the end of the summer I had over $1000 banked and was sitting at the air conditioned cinema as my customers lawns were being mowed.

Well I work at a Grocery store and im 16 too. It dosnt pay well but the store I work at has very good hours. I can work whenever I want.

Target tends to abuse their employees. I have a friend that works there and everytime I call him to go do something he's always working.

The thing is that 16 year olds cant get any really good job.

You are dead on. With a store like target look for stocking. With a grocery store you have a few more optioins as you could work in a department - say produce - working mostly alone with some limited customer contact. Another option would be a warehouse.

You will come in contact with many people in a grocery store. Try looking for work with a landscaping company. All you do is mow lawns etc.

You can work in a kitchen as a cook too. No one bothers you there either.

I would start off in an office because it can pay much better and has many more opportunities.
