Yes, you are correct in your analogy.
It passes the time and SOMETIMES you can actually run across an intelligent question or poll and surprisingly, some give pretty good answers. Often, it's more like some people give no thought to how their remarks make them look so they say what they want.... they give it no thought. I think most refer to them as "teens or kids" although I think some of the "adults" are just as bad.... not that I haven't had a few smart remarks to make of my own though.
