Maybe American think their country is the best to live in, maybe immigrant from 3. world also think that, but majority from EU will disagree. I peronally would never live in USA, never in my life. I just can't stand fake and depressed people.

Mr. Dobson, I'm assuming you've lived in the US for most if not all of your life.
Do you think the reason, year after year, that more foreigners want/come to the US, is because their home country doesn't have decent McNuggets and grande lattes? Regardless of what "you" believe Americans think, the fact that millions of immigrants come every year is pretty convincing evidence that the USA, is the best or at least top 3.
Of all the countries on your "Dobson's best countries to live in list", how many have dictatorships, communism, ruling family or other dominant/single party form of government???
Your definition of "Love" is a sad one, if you're offended by "Love it or Leave it". That doesn't mean "Bend over & take it up the azz or Leave it". The United States was founded/thrives on brilliant ideas, hard work and the willingness of those who understood & "Loved" it, to fight for it, even die for it. The "Love" is that special. Republicans, moreover, Do "Love" this country and think it a pretty great place. Republicans fought/won the Civil War, against the slave owning Democrats. This ended slavery and kept the country in one piece. Imagine if back then, Republicans, didn't care enough about this Country to fight/die to preserve it? We'd have a divided country and the South would likely still have slavery. Some Democrats hate this country, wish to change every aspect of it and turn the Constitution upside down.
Republicans aren't perfect, but the majority believe in our system and strive to make things better in the US and the world.
Democrats claim they want to help people, but their way of "helping" has succeeded in hurting people. How many welfare recipients have used it to create a better life, then free themselves from it? Very few, when compared to the number that could work, but choose to settle for the easy money? Abortion, Democrats hold onto this for "dear life" this one issue will often determine how they vote. If they understood the US system, they'd know this law won't be reversed anytime soon. Even worse, they hide behind "a woman's right to choose", but are blind when it comes to the emotional scars nearly every women forever carries after this proceedure. Men and women also have the right to be responsible and use any number of alternative birth control methods, that rarely result in the woman feeling lifelong regret.
One last thing? When have you ever traveled outside the US and expressed to foreignors "how much better" the US is to their country? How many times have you heard a foreigner, in the US. tell you "how lucky you are to be born American? What does luck have to do with it? I don't believe in luck. Nonsense, if anyone is, you're the one who's lucky, you're welcomed in and can safely traveling around the US. Whle, most Americans never get the opportunity to experience a foreign country. Those who do, almost always get harassed for money, overcharged, treated worse occasionally better, but very rarely equal.
The US provides more aid to more countries than anyone else. We do this because we're able and willing to. 200 years ago, we had no means of assisting anyone. Now it feels like many have come to expect it, call us greeding for giving $30mil, so we give another $30mil and still don't get so much as a thank you.
The reason you feel disgusted and shameful is because you have very little understanding of what has been accomplished in such a short amount of time. As a result, you've formed a negative attitude towards the US, based upon an unreal expectation that Americans should be perfect, because deep down, it's really you that believes you are better than everyone. Think about it...

You are absotulty right. I lblame the media and its portrayal of the areas outside of the America. I have spent a large part of my lifeoutside of the US(my home country) and it is my least favorite country. Simple because of the value system and the ignorace that is so widespread in America. Most of these people that say America is the best have never seen no other way of life. They have had no international experience at all. They should not have any opinions on what they do not truly understand. The Media and our goverment also reinforces these beliefs because how they portray other countries. There are countries way better then then America and just because is temporarely one the top countries of the world doesnt not make it the best country in the world. There are so many things wrong with our country. Please dont include these negative aspects of our country in their opinions. These are not educated opinions but sadly these are opinions of the majority.

It is the mentality of the people that makes one feel his country is best in the world.
For us Indians, India is great with certain values. Similarly, Americans feel that US is great. There is nothing wrong in their thinking. You have given an illustration that an Irishman says his country is the best and this statement itself answers your question.
We Indians say our culture is great and like wise Americans say their culture is great. Don't you know one man's food is another man's poison?
May be the infrastructure and the good roads etc., in US and the free lifestyle may influence some outsiders and they may want to live there.

Well that is true-you do have options if you don't like it here:) but I don't hate other countries. Some really do suck but not all. You are right about asking an Irishman and so on but then why is an American wrong for doing the same thing??? It's just pride of country

I've traveled around the world and honestly I love America. Do I think its the best for everything? No. Paris has the Nôtre-Dame Cathedral Towers, Rome has the Colloseum, Tokyo makes Times Square look generic, London is full of culture and history and has a great atmosphere.
While I love my country, it does sadden me that America is recognized more for KFC than for Andy Warhol.

that's funny, everyone I meet traveling,
Australians, Germans, Italians, Japanese, Thai, Philippians, Canadians, Britt's, french, Spanish and even the Dutch, are all very cool people and never have anything bad to say about America. maybe you should try the Marriott instead of the youth hostel.
it's called consumerism!
convenience makes the world work, why knock it?
obviously you didn't connect in Tokyo

New York City is the best, don't know about the rest of America and by the way, I don't think it sucks to live anywhere else. I think Barbados and London are great places to live.

You obviously don't like America or Americans. You state even the Irish think their country is best, but that's okay. Americans are not supposed to have pride. If countries don't want our commercial trade then they do not have to have it. If it wasn't successful they would not open there. So you are just another ranting liberal who thinks its cool to hate America. Wah wah wah......
