i think the standard is up to 5 pages per stamp but i am not sure

That depends in part on the weight of the envelope you use. The 27 pages should go for $1.83, but add at least 24 cents more for the envelope - $2.07 total, ot $2.31 to be completely safe. The rate is 39 cents for one ounce and 24 cents for each additional ounce.

Go to the Post Office! You would need to many stamps!

It all depends on how heavy are the paper. The heavier it is the more you will have to pay.
