the chemical potential energy inside(glucose) can produce electricity but its a complicated process. u'll have to use the fruit as fuel to heat up water so that its steam can turn the turbine in order to generate electricity with it.

They don't 'produce electricity' really. Its that they can conduct electricity through ions. but yes, what everyone else said is right.
