At the end of your stay, I usually leave $3 to $5 by the phone these days and a little thank you note.

It depends....are you staying in a motel or condo??? If you are in a motel, you recieve service daily, upon leaving I would suggest giving the staff person $10-$20 depending on how bad you made it for them, remember they get an hourly wage by the motel. If it's a condo that you are renting from an individual, I would ask the person you are renting from, the last time I stayed in a condo, I payed them $50, she didn't come in until after my vacation was over.

It is customary not to tip housekeeping staff in the USA. If you feel that the service was exceptional, however, I would think that $1/night or $2/night would suffice.

From where will you be traveling?

Have fun on your vacation!

Maybe U am cheap, but I don't tip the housekeeping staff in a hotel at all. Never have and never will. Hell, when you pay $100 plus a night for a room, you have already tipped enough.

We just returned from Disney last week - $189 per night - at a moderate rate resort. However, we did tip the maid a couple dollars when we left - she did give us very good service while we were there.

It depends where you stay. If you stay at a hotel, you can tip them a $20, or if you stay at a house, you don't have to tip, because the owners already pay them.

A can of refried beans and some tortillas will do. Maybe some goat cheese if you're feeling spunky. Leave it the morning you leave for home.
