Yes, I have. I was working as a veterinary technician and was injured at work. I was trying to x-ray a 92 lb. Labrador with inexperienced help. I ended up getting thrown against the wall and herniated 2 discs in my neck. One of those discs ruptured a couple months later, trapping a nerve in my left arm. I never want to feel that kind of pain again. It was like a white hot wire running from my shoulder to my wrist. Morphine didn't help. I ultimately had surgery which stopped the pain. My surgeon told me that neck vertebrae surgery is usually 99% successful to alleviate pain, as opposed to lower back pain which is a 50/50 crap shoot if you get pain relief with surgery. I would find a really good orthopedic surgeon or a neurosurgeon. It depends on how much damage and atrophy the nerve has suffered as to whether you can get any relief. But believe me, I have not regretted having surgery. I wouldn't wish that kind of pain on my worst enemy.

Try physical therap with cervical traction.
It will open up the space and free up the pinched nerve.
Also some high dose predisone may be in order to reduce the swelling as you go through the PT.
You can always nerve block it with a anesthesiologists help, that way you won't have to feel the pain... But that is the last resort, and if you are young and able to get some physical therapy with the medication... It usually helps you out.

I have one right now. It hurts a lot. Sometimes my arm will go cold and tingly. Sometimes the pain is just so bad that I can't move without it being a sharp pain. It's kind of a pain you don't feel with anything else, you'd have to have the pinched nerve to know how it feels. It's hard to describe but they REALLY hurt. No treatments worked for me, I just take Bayer back and body, it works. Horror stories... um... not really... I was really scared and went to the ER because my arm went tingly and cold and I was scared I was like paralyzed... hehe.

My Dad had one in his right upper arm for years. He went to an orthopedic surgeon who ordered physical therapy. After the first treatment Dad said, he wished he had done it years ago.
