IT ALL DEPENDS IF YOU HAVE AN INFECTION OR MEDICAL CONDITION OR NOT. I ADVISE SEEKING MEDICAL HELP RIGHT AWAY AND HAVE A CANCER TEST CARRIED OUT WHICH WILL AT LEAST RULE OUT POSSIBILITIES.
IT IS ALSO POSSIBLE THAT IF YOU HAVE HAD SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WHICH HAS BEEN ROUGH THIS MAY WELL HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO A SMALL WOUND OR TEAR.
SEEK ADVICE FROM YOUR NURSE OR DOCTOR AND DON'T DELAY.

I would recommend seeing your GP or practice nurse, I had a similar problem and it was discovered I had an ectropian, a small ulcerated area on my cervix. The treatment was cautery to the area as a day case and the symptoms stopped.
There are many causes for bleeding between periods , infection , tears, etc. but most of them are easily treated, easier sooner than if you leave it unattended.

It's most likely the wrong type of pill for you. Best thing to do is go and have a chat with your doctor and maybe get moved on to a different pill.

Generally speaking,if you have breakthrough bleeding while on the pill, you may be on one that is not strong enough for you. You may also have been on that one for a while in which case your body may be use to it and you may be ready for something stronger. Check with your doctor as you can become pregnant if it is not strong enough for you.Good luck to you.
