I've only seen a hydro system used on marijuana? Is it good for any thing other then weed? If so, is it ever used in a commercial setting?

Mostly special tomatoes or other high value crops(due to costs),but drip systems(sans lights) are used to cut down on water costs(major expence in food crops).

Yes it's good for things other than weed but why would you want to grown anything other than weed? Stick with growing weed and then smoke it until all of your brain cells die so I can laugh at you.

It works fabulously for orchids. I grow orchids semi-hydroponically, with a shallow, individual reservoir and LECA (expanded ceramic pellets) to wick the water and provide support for the roots.
