First off, you can explain that you're not gay and have a laugh about it and probably just have a chat and get on with life.

Secondly, why do you think the number of gay people goes up by the year? Since homosexuality is forbidden in over fifty countries and the death penalty is handed out for 'offenders' in seven of those, the number of people who are actually gay remains unknown. As gay people flee their countries as a result of the threat of death or punishment in their own, the perceived number increases, but this is just a matter of visibility, not actual numbers.

Number one, the number of gay people does not change. If you are young more of them come out as they get older -- but the number is the same -- and has been historically consistent for many thousands of years.

Number two, well, when a girl hits on me I say no -- being a gay male. If I hit on a guy who was straight, I would expect him to say no, the same as I do to the girl.

What else would anyone other than a creep do?

No is an easy word.

Regards,

Reyn

How do we keep getting more and more gay people if they cannot reproduce? Straights must be turning gay spontaneously. By that theory your may just wake up gay yourself one morning. That being the case, you would probably want to get to know him and maybe have a relationship.

Why are you posting a question directed to a straight person on a gay board?

I'm gay. If I was interested I'd follow up. If I wasn't interested I'd thank them politely and go on my way.

The world gets larger everyday thus there would be more gay men and women , But to answer your question ; If a gay man or woman hit on me I would say thanks I am flattered but I am straight . If your are interested then if there is an attraction say thanks , would you like to have dinner sometime and get to know each other . If there is no attraction simply say thanks , but I am currently unavailable .

Exactly what I've already said to gay women who try to hit on me: I'm flattered, but I like guys - said with a smile.

The same thing you would do if a straight person you weren't interested in hit on you... Gay people are PEOPLE.
How about ...
"Thank you for your attention but I do not feel the same way."

well, I'm lesbian, but I'm not single, so I'd say I'm flattered, but I'm taken.
as far as the numbers getting bigger, I think it's more of us are coming out and are visible.
and as far as us not being able to reproduce, that's not true. we can and we do!
