They use their ears to cool off, thats why when they get hot you can put a little water on them, also giving them cool fresh water 24 hours a day is necessary & also give them a frozen water bottle. You dont have to do much in the winter just make sure it doesnt have too much wind blowing on them.

Actually, they do it via several means. The first is via the ears. The ears are thin and the blood flowing through the thin ears allows their body to cool. Secondly, they do it through their body. If you watch a rabbit when they are hot, they will stretch their body out as much as possible. This allows more body contact with the ground beneath them allowing the coolness of the ground beneath them to help cool them. The last major way is through respiration. The air going in and out of its nostrils and mouth allow the rabbit to cool itself by releasing hot air and taking in cool air.

Rabbits temp is regulated thru the ears. They are very susceptible to heat stroke. To cool a rabbit down place a cold compress on the ears.
