They (those controlling the media) don't want us to know the real issues.
Knowledge is power, and we (the general population) are to remain powerless.
So we are fed "interesting" stories about celebrity gossip to distract us.

Why did the Jews give him so much static when he made the movie about Christ? See, that's where it started. Mel should apologize but the Jews running Hollywood should first apologize for starting the whole thing. Mel was stressed because of persecution, behind the scenes. Mel got drunk, and it all came out.
The more important question is: how does Hollywood remain almost completely dominated by Jews? Obviously, they are the bigots, promoting Jews as actors, or producers, etc...to remain in control. Does it make me feel good that Jewish people, who hate Jesus, are instructing the world through movies, TV, etc? They remain in control because they are practicing bigotry. That is why Mel was so stressed.

Mel Gibson will sell more newspapers/magazines than some random terrorist. I don't agree with it. I am personally sick of the whole Mel debacle. I've been drunk and said some things that I regret. The world needs to get over it. There are too many other important things going on to worry about what one celebrity said in a drunken stupor.

Its sad that the murder of anyone fades from the front page so quickly but there's always another to take its place. The Phoenix shooters... Mel Gibson has played around with recovery for may years, knows that he has a problem and chose to use anyway. Maybe he'll finally reach his bottom and get on the wagon for good? We give way to much credit to people involved in the entertainment business

Both should be vilified but you see Gibson attracts the attention of so many people. Nobody would agree with the Seattle terrorists actions but some people might agree with Gibson. And the first step to doing something that happened in Seattle is to cultivate hate as Gibson is doing. So Gibson's story was, and is bigger because he can influence so many more people.

Given the time and attention our national media devote to the ups and downs of Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, and company, it doesn't surprise me a bit. Crazy people shooting up schools, restaurants, even religious institutions have become so commonplace that their shelf life often doesn't run from one newscast to the next.
There is virtually no coverage in most media of the causes of tension and war in the Middle East, let alone the details of terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians or the Israeli army's retaliatory strikes against Palestinian villages and civilians.
We live in a world where most consumers of news want their information simplified to the point of silliness - Who are the good guys? Who are the bad guys? Who's winning? How much will gasoline for my SUV cost next week?
It took nearly four years for a majority of Americans to figure out that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, even with politicians, columnists, and editorial writers banging that drum on every occasion. Without similar emphasis in the national media it may take decades for Americans to figure out the complexities of war and peace in the Middle East.

It's called Media Manipulation. Also it's the same reason that the media reports the killing s in Lebanon and glosses over the killings in Israel.

The cult of celebrity has spiraled out of control. The minor misdemeanours of stars are more important than the heinous crimes of the inhumane.
And we the people, vote with our feet, buying the newspapers that treat us and the world this way.
The news is this way because we chose it. The blame is our own.
