Dude I agree with you to an extent, I used to be very republican and totally against all people who were anti war but then I realized that maybe killing other people really doesn't solve anything...And as hard as it was to do this I put myself in the place of the Iraqi people and imagined a huge Army putting itself into my country and telling me my govt was bad and they were here to help. While this help ment the bombing of buildings and area's i had grown up with. I think that I would find some way to fight back as well because no body wants someone in thier country doing that. It took alot of time and reflection to come to that realization and I wish more people would do it. I understand where Republicans are coming from because they just don't want people F'kin with the USA and Democrats don't either but they would rather be on the self defense half of it and try to set a peacefull example.

I can't speak for other people, but I don't think being against the war makes you anti-American. My problem is with people who treat our Military bad and believe they don't have to be in Iraq if they don't want to be, and it just doesn't work that way! They did make the choice to go into the Military, nobody forced them, but if they have orders to go to Iraq, or anywhere else, they have to go! They can't just tell their CO they are against the war, so they're staying home! I know my own husband would rather stay home with me and our kids, but he has to go when he gets orders from his Command. People that call our Military Members murders (And I'm talking about the ones that killed the little girl and her family in Iraq. They are bastards and should pay for what they did!) and all these other horrible names, need to realize if it wasn't for these men and women joining and going into the Armed Forces on their own, there would be a draft, and those very people that criticize our Military, would be fighting this
war. People say horrible stuff about our Country, Military and Government, and then say "I have freedom of speech"
Well, where do they think they get this freedom?
I'm a Bush supporter, I think that going into Iraq was the right thing to do, and I also think Iseral has the right to bomb the hell our of Lebannon until they agree to get rid of the terrorrist they are supporting. Yes, I'm for all the stuff that many people are against and hate, but I have the right to feel this way! I have the right to vote for who I want, I have the right to support the President when he's in office, and I have the right to feel that my Country is dealing with with these issues the right way. But I find so many people that are against all of this get down right angry at me, and those like me, for this. Why? If people don't want to live in a country where you're free to have different opinions and beliefes, then go where they don't have that freedom. I could careless if someone is against the war or the President. It doesn't affect me or make a difference in my life. Everyone is entilted to their own feeling's.
In closing, I will say that the weird theories (And yes people, they are theories, because there is no proof) that people are buying into about 9/11 are ridiculous. Yes, you can feel that our Government were the ones that blew up the World Trade Center, but that doesn't make it true! (We all seen the planes fly into the buildings, and we all heard Ossama say he was behind it!) And I believe it gives terrorist just what they want when we shift the blame off them, and put it on our own Government. Again, it's fine to dislike Bush, but people should use facts to dislike him, not made up theories from some anti- Government freak that locks their self in a basement all day making up crazy stories.
All in all JAMES, you stick with how you feel. It doesn't make you any less of an American because you don't believe in this war. I think you are one of the few that got your point across without telling other people how wrong they are to believe the way they do.

Authoritism.is what it is called, people will follow blindly in order to belong to the "right side". I am a veteran and in law enforcement but I do not agree with this war and quite Frankly, believe that the president should be indicted along with any co-conspiritors that concived planned and help facilitate the war. the only one in the administration that I think was innocent was Colin Powell. Anyway the United States is founded on the rights of the individual so don't lose your independent thinking and the ability to speak out against wrong on any level and speak the loudest by going out and exercising your right to vote.

It's called freedom of speech. Some people don't want to think and will always remain myopic. They will never think for themselves and they love to play follow the leader no matter where he goes. They twist everything around and say anti-war demonstrators are against the soldiers which is total BS. From the looks of some of the hate at YAHOO ANSWERS they have a need to hate and they hate to think. They would have to break away from their mob and like most members in a mob when they are alone they are afraid. These people could never stand up by them selves because that would mean they had principles and were willing to fight for them alone against the group.

you are right , there will never be an agreement on this issue . my point is always that the troops need our support , even if you don't support the war ( who does really ) you shouldn't make the troops feel like they are dying for no reason . The fact is they wouldn't be fighting in the war if they didn't think it is serving a purpose , most of the troops support what they are doing so we should to . we should listen to the troops because they are over there everyday and know what really is going on

Its one thing to be "anti-war". No one is "Pro-war". There are many people out there that just come about it in the wrong way. Protests are a great right we have in this country. The problem is there a few "zealots" that feel it is there "right" to protest when and what ever the feel, and never really choose a side. Where the protests when Clinton was bombing Kosvo? And look at Cindy Sheehan, using the war and her protests for monetary gain.

I agree with you. Whenever i express ideas on yahoo answers i get bashed by Americans thinking i am against coalition troops. What you have to remember is that people who say 'your wrong' without considering your opinion are ignorant. I look at both sides of the argument and although i have arrived at my opinion i still respect other peoples. Just ignore those people, you are entitled to your opinion.

The important thing to know is that the war has been over since a month after it had begun, we are nation building now. Germany went through the same thing after ww2

Any country whose people blindly follow their government are fools destined for a major letdown. To say the US government is to be totally trusted is a joke. Ours is just as bad as any other, and right now, the American people are being put through the wringer by the current administration. Aren't we a bunch of suckers!

Because post nine-eleven America has fostered a culture where freedom of speech has disappeared in a wave of fear and paranoia.
It's like we were attacked and could be again at any moment (if central NY isn't safe where is?) - if you don't hate the attackers and want to kill them you are not one of us.
Good tactics from the Bush Admin, now they can do whatever they like and if you disagree you are a traitor.
And all in the name of FREEDOM.
Oh, the irony is unbearable.
