Does anyone write to female inmates?

I found a site, http://www.cowtowninfo.com/personals/jailbabes-main.html that lists personals ads from female inmates along with their mailing addresses. I'm wondering if this is a scam or if these are real people. Some of the ads read as though they are truly nice women who have made wrong choices along the way, but deep down they are more victim of circumstances (such as drug abuse) than bad people.

Has anyone written to any of these ladies? What has been your experience? Are they after more than friendship?

i used to write to a few of them when i was in the pokey myself. I can tell you that people one the inside aree seareching for someone to talk to to keep themselves occupied. I knew people that specifically searched out penpals to get money. It is suprising easy to find people to fall in love with you behind bars, and this is from a guys point of view. Now women on the other hand have an even greater advantage, they can really suck you so becareful.
so, your answer is yes, there are some in there that are good people. But, your chances of finding them are slim. Your more likely to be sucked in by some sweet talk for someones enjoyment. But, you may get some good dirty letters out of it. ;-)

I am not sure about that particular site but you can search for sites that will provide you with the names and addresses. Some will try to use you for money, but there are some ladies that really only want a pen pal.

I personally have not but I did some research and found a couple of real ones. the link is to state of florida department of corrections. shows a girl that is on the list and is in the system.
