It's because they have been taken over by special interest groups with their own massive agendas and they can't connect with their own party members, let alone with crossover voters. They want to be the party of inclusion but they have gone to far to the left to include everyone. I have some democrat friends who vote republican because they simply cannot agree with the democrat platform, but they won't change party because of family history.

You mentioned a perfect example of Joe Lieberman, but don't forget their poster child of Cynthia McKinney down in Georgia's 4th district. Here's a lady who should never be in congress but she'll probably get re-elected. She's never had really one piece of meaningful legislation pass, nor been a part of one piece of meaningful legislation.

It's hard being a democrat when you have to side with the Hezbollah just because you hate Bush so much and want to blame him for all the world's woes. How sad is that?

I'm a Democrat and always will be. I think the Democrats are the best party and I don't see how the Republicans function....all they do is follow Bush around like a puppy dog. At least the Democrats have the guts to disagree with one of their own.

The Democratic Party actually is democratic. The candidates it nominates and the positions it takes are determined by the members of the party, so it can seem a little disorganized sometimes. As Will Rodgers once said, "I belong to no organized political party, I am a Democrat!" We are actually a little proud of this because we Democrats determine the position of our party, while the poor Republicans have all their candidates, their policies, and their opinions handed down to them from operatives like Karl Rove. So tho it seems a little disorganized sometimes, we prefer actually controlling our party.

No, the democrats are still the same red, white, and blue they've always been.

And the republicans are still the same black and red with silver swastikas they've been for the last sixty-one months.

And my party is still Green and proud of it.

And that's not a good thing to stand behind your party all the time, right or wrong.

I despise Adolph Hitler. But not nearly as much as I hate all his mindless little goose-steppers. If not for them, old Adolph would have supported his alcoholism by selling really bad paintings of birds and frogs and landscapes, and that's the most harm he ever would have done.

And if not for you "but I still stand behind my party, right or wrong, blah-blah-blah" types, George Bush would be a failed minor league baseball team owner, addicted to Lone Star beer and crack as nature intended. And that's the most harm he ever would have done.

"I don't see how they even function."
Ironic, seeing how this is the most dysfunctional party in the history of mankind. I don't even see how they know how to operate can openers and spoons to keep from starving to death.

"Well, we're eight trillion dollars in debt but we're all better off than we've ever been before, a lot better off than we ever were under That Pervert. Everything's so much better than it was six years ago. America's safer than it's ever been, too, and I thank God for George Bush. It's all thanks to him."

Cretins. Do you even believe yourselves?

If you mean by "showing their true colors" that they are standing up for the lower income citizens by demanding a livable minimum wage WITHOUT tax breaks for millionaires, and standing up for our fighting men and women by demanding a real reason we are at war and not just lies or demanding that they be sent back home without said reasons. Then yes, they are showing their true colors.

Joe Lieberman has NOT disagreed on just 1 issue. He has been conservative since day 1 in the Senate. Also, I know of NO national Democrat who has not been supporting him in this election. It is the people of his home state of Connecticut who are disappointed with him, and that is their right.

I think the Democratic party has been on a slippery slope since Richard Nixon took the election away from Hubert H. Humphrey in 1968, occasionally showing signs of recovery only to slip back down the slope...

I beg your pardon! Who wants to crucify Lieberman? And how, with ropes, nails, screws or all? I guess they are willing to put him on trial first, am I correct?
By the way, if this was true, it would have been good news, because in my opinion, that Lieberman is a war criminal.

You have to understand, Democrats have tunnel vision. They do not know how to think for themselves, certainly out side the box. Democrats have created the greatest burden to our country because they would rather ridicule others than try and come up with a better viable alternative to any new ideas. Dems are nothing more than left wing liberal communists.

What Lieberman got to do with anything? He has his right to his opinion same as everyone else...It just isn't the war America is complaining about it's Bush himself and his policies that are failing America.

If Lieberman is a warning sign, Hilary will NOT become president. Look for Gomer Pyle to make another run.
