I think you mean "save as" (not "save us" - I wish there was a save us command).

Save command will save the revised version of a file in the same directory under the same name and same file extension. The Save as command gives you the option to change any or all of these. For example, if you are writing a report and you want to save the second draft separately, you will give it a separate name (e.g. report2). If you used the save command, it will replace the previously stored version under the same name.

LoL I think you mean Save-As.....

Anyways, the Save command usually saves the data in the Default 'file-type' or format, as specified or needed by the program. For example, notepad will save any file as a .txt file by default. Also, the 'Save' function is used when a file that has already been saved, and has just been updated with some new data, needs to be saved again with the new data incorporated into it.

The 'Save-As' option generally gives you various other formats in which you can save the file/data. For example, in programs like audio or video editing apps, you choose 'Save-As' in case you want to export the data as a MPEG video file or a MP3 File depending on your slection.

The "save" command will save the latest changes to a file over the top of the old version of the file. The "save as" command prompts you for a new filename and location to save the file so it does not overwrite the old version of the file. If it is a brand new file, and you do a "save", it will actually run a "save as" and prompt you for the filename and location.

If you mean "Save AS" command......

If you select "Save", a file will save with the current name under which it is already saved; if you select "Save As", it will give you the ability to save it under a new/different name; to save a copy.

If you have not previously saved the data, then they are for all intents and purposes the same.
