the lack of tides and the complete night darkness would affect a lot of species that have evolved around those phenomena. For instance, a lot of mammals (including humans) have monthly ovulation cycles because, once a month, nighttime activity comes to a standstill when there is a new moon and nocturnal predators are at a major advantage. Lots of biological cycles are tied in with the moon, so such a major change would have a huge effect on a lot of biospheres. And with a lack of tidal shifts, I think you would see some climate change based on adjustments that would occur in ocean and atmospheric thermal flows.

We would not be here. The biological environment on earth would be completely different. I also predict no life would exist because tidal flows assist in moderating the earth's temperature. Think of it as a fan that blows air around a room to keep the average temperature more uniform. Without tidal flows, the oceans would heat and evaporate into space leaving no water on earth.

As a side note, I wonder if Mars scientists can predict whether Mars had a moon at one time.

we would not have tides for sure, but thats only a small change the earth would experience. there would be several changes(which may be to a catastrophic level, since the moon is a considerably huge object)the gravitational equation that governs the movement of the eath(rotation and revolution) will be altered. which may also result in the earth slowly moving out of its orbit...and over a few years may even collide with other planets resulting in the end of mankind:) sounds like science fiction, doesnt it...well all these might happen only if the moon is suddenly removed. you might be interested in this...
did you know a moon of jupiter crashed on jupiter!

This question has been asked and answered a number of times... so I'll give you the summary.

If it were like that when the planets were formed we'd be fine... except there would be no CHANGING TIDES...

If it were to suddenly happen... it would take 100,000 years for the EARTH to "calm down".. adjusting to the new dynamic.

The earth will certainly be unstable and the sme thing might happen what happened to Uranus, they are farther from the planet, the closest is nearly 129,800 km away from the planet.
Imagine earth rolling on it's axis.

Our nights would be darker obviously. We would be less crazy (boring), less emotional (a plus) and less intelligent ( like if that'll make any difference ). Also the moon acts as a goal keeper knocking out many asteroids and interstellar debris, that otherwise would hand us our demise. It's an enormous rock that orbits our even bigger planet in only 24 hours. In my book that's pretty damned fast.

Then i think earth become alone because Moon is just the earth lunar ND without moon it be alone .
and night be dark as much as now.

one of the main gravitational reactions..that causes tides here on earth is moon.
the gravitational force from the moon tend to pull the hydrosphere on wherever location it is.
if no moon..

--no more tides..

moon is also one of the planets astronomers study with. To learn more about the origin of space and the planets.
so..if we still have about 10% more to study about space..creation of planets, surely moon., without it, umm..about 5%..

well..also if no moon, there will be no more "goodnight sun" perhaps..

There would be no tides in the oceans as the gravitational pull of the moon causes these. It's eliptical orbit causes higher tides at certain times known as spring tides.

if there was no moon there will not be the occurence of high and low tides. moon is the only natural satellite of the earth which gives us moonlight.
AND OFCOURSE
if moon was not there no one would have ever been there. like neil armstrong.
